What does a Pain Relief Clinic do?

Pain Medicine is a sub-speciality of Anaesthesia devoted to treating the symptoms and causes of chronic pain. The Manx Pain Relief Clinic is based at Noble's Hospital, Isle of Man. Dr Adrian Dashfield established this new Service when he joined the staff of Noble's Hospital as a Consultant Anaesthetist and Pain Management Specialist in June 2010.

            

The Manx Pain Relief Clinic provides a service for  NHS and Private patients living in the Isle of Man who suffer from chronic pain. The core activities for all hospital-based pain management units are control and rationalisation of drug therapy for pain, diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks, stimulation produced pain relief such as acupuncture and TENS, physical therapy and psychological approaches to pain management.
